Programme and inclusions

1 Arrival

2 Foresta Umbra, Monte S. Angelo, and S. Giovanni Rotondo
The journey begins with an exploration of Foresta Umbra, a lush, dense forest, which offers an authentic taste of Italy’s natural beauty. Participants will then visit Monte S. Angelo, renowned for its historical and religious significance, before continuing to the revered town of San Giovanni Rotondo. This town is particularly significant due to its association with the famous Padre Pio, adding a spiritual dimension to the experience.

3 Peschici, Vieste, and the Marine Caves
The tour continues along the Adriatic coast, visiting the charming coastal towns of Peschici and Vieste. These areas are celebrated for their picturesque views and traditional Mediterranean charm. An exciting boat ride (weather permitting) will take participants to the marine caves near Vieste. This offers a unique opportunity to discover the natural caves formed by the sea, blending adventure with scenic beauty.

4 Trani and Castel del Monte - hotel change
The next stop takes the group to Trani, a charming town known for its magnificent cathedral and historic harbor. A visit to the Basilica Cattedrale di Trani provides an opportunity to appreciate the region’s architectural beauty and cultural significance. From there, the tour moves on to Castel del Monte, the iconic 13th-century castle built by Emperor Frederick II, offering a unique insight into medieval history and architecture. To ensure maximum comfort and convenience, the group will also experience a hotel change, positioning them closer to the next destinations.

5 Cisternino, Martina Franca, and Locorotondo
Today, travellers will experience the trulli-studded towns of Cisternino, Martina Franca, and Locorotondo. These towns are renowned for their picturesque white-washed buildings and charming narrow streets. A special stop at a local estate offers a hearty snack paired with local olive oil and wine, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the region’s agricultural traditions and fine flavours.

6 Altamura and Matera 
The group will visit Altamura, famed for its bread-making traditions, where a local baker will offer an exclusive tasting experience. The journey continues to Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient cave dwellings. A visit to the “Casa Grotta” (a typical cave house) will showcase the unique architectural history of the region, offering a fascinating perspective on human habitation from the distant past.

7 Ostuni and Alberobello

A visit to the "Trullo Sovrano" offers an insight into the unique and historic architectural style of these traditional stone dwellings, which are a symbol of the region’s cultural heritage.
