Venice Lagoon – Lio Piccolo

Nestled in the northern Venice Lagoon, Lio Piccolo is a tranquil mosaic of salt marshes, brackish lagoons, and mudflats. Home to halophytic plants like sea lavender and glasswort, it supports rich marine life and bird species such as flamingos, egrets, and avocets. Canals, reed beds, and tamarisk shrubs reflect a delicate balance between agriculture and nature in this biodiverse, centuries-old landscape.

Lake Disrict / Lake Iseo – Torbiere del Sebino

Near Lake Iseo, the Torbiere del Sebino nature reserve is a vibrant wetland ecosystem of reeds, marshes, and peat bogs. Surrounded by farmland, it shelters migratory birds and native flora like cattails and water lilies. This protected area plays a key role in conserving biodiversity and offers a peaceful refuge for wildlife and nature lovers alike.

Barcelona – Urban Climate Forest

To combat rising heatwaves and the urban heat island effect, a new green space is being created on the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This climate refugia cools the area, attracts pollinators and birds, and raises awareness about the importance of urban biodiversity and climate resilience.

Levico Terme – Panarotta Forest Recovery

Storm Vaia devastated parts of the Panarotta Forest in Trentino. Our reforestation project restores biodiversity by planting native species such as larch, maple, birch, and rowan. These trees will help stabilize slopes, protect soils, and rebuild the forest as a resilient ecosystem for future generations.

Preserving Culture & Heritage

San Casciano dei Bagni, in southern Tuscany, is home to over forty thermal springs, with the Bagno Grande being the most notable. In November 2022, 24 perfectly preserved bronze statues were discovered at the site, marking one of the most significant Etruscan and Roman finds in the Mediterranean. Michelangelo International Travel is proud to support this cultural project, helping preserve and promote this incredible heritage.

This remarkable find underscores our commitment to preserving and celebrating culture, ensuring these priceless pieces of history are safeguarded for future generations.
