1 Arrival - Overnight in the Monferrato area

2 Canelli, sparkling wine and Alba - Overnight in the Monferrato area
Your clients’ adventure begins with a scenic hike through ancient castles and rolling vineyards, culminating in the enchanting old town of Canelli. Known as the birthplace of Asti sparkling wine, this historic town has preserved its winemaking tradition for over 150 years. Here, the group pauses to explore its rich history and charm. Next, your clients will visit a traditional winery and descend into the iconic underground cathedrals, magnificent vaulted cellars carved into the tufa hills, originally designed to provide perfect conditions for aging sparkling wines. In this awe-inspiring setting, they will enjoy a guided wine tasting, savoring the exquisite flavors that have made this region famous worldwide. In the afternoon, the hiking tour continues to Alba, the celebrated capital of the white truffle. Today’s walking tour begins in the charming town of Barbaresco, renowned for its namesake fine wine. The hike leads your clients through picturesque vineyards and peaceful cherry groves nestled in a tranquil valley. Along the way, your group will stop at a scenic viewpoint, where they can relax on a unique half-barrel-shaped bench while taking in the breathtaking panorama of the rolling countryside. The trail continues past poplar trees and hazelnut woods, concluding in the delightful village of Neive. Here, your clients can wander through its winding, circular streets that wrap around the ancient castle, immersing themselves in the village’s timeless charm. Leaving Monferrato, the journey continues to the fertile plains of Vercelli, one of Italy’s most celebrated rice-growing regions. A delightful risotto lunch at a typical farmhouse highlights the area’s prized rice, prepared with traditional recipes that showcase its rich flavor.The experience concludes with a scenic arrival at the sparkling shores of Lake Maggiore, where lakeside views provide a serene contrast to the vibrant countryside.

6 Historic route from Suna to Cavandone and Borromean Islands - Overnight on Lake Maggiore

The hike begins in the picturesque, colorful village of Suna, easily reached by a short walk. From there, the medieval mule track (bridleway) winds upward toward the charming, historic village of Cavandone. The path ascends through a chestnut forest, passing a medieval tower and camellia gardens, with stunning views unfolding over Lake Maggiore.
Upon arriving in Cavandone, a 400-year-old yew tree stands as a silent witness to the village’s history. Along the way, encounters with local inhabitants, such as a ceramic artist and a beekeeper, bring the community to life. The village itself preserves a fascinating array of stone carvings and symbols—trees, crosses, faces, and cup-marked stones—that reflect centuries of tradition.
The walk continues with a return to Suna, followed by a boat ride to the Borromean Islands. A visit to the enchanting Isola Madre offers the opportunity to admire its magnificent gardens before the boat carries travelers back to Baveno.

7 Lake Orta - Overnight on Lake Maggiore
The pleasant hike begins in the village of Armeno and concludes in the medieval village of Orta San Giulio, perched on the shores of Lake Orta. The trail passes through a variety of landscapes, beginning with pastoral views of farms and meadows, and crossing a Roman bridge on the way to the village of Ameno, distinct from Armeno.
Continuing along the path, the park of an old manor house appears before the hamlet of Vacciago, noted for its elegant noble villas. The route then descends toward Legro, where frescoes adorn the walls of local houses, adding vibrant touches of art to the village streets. The tour culminates in the enchanting medieval village of Orta San Giulio, where the lakeside setting and charming townscape invite quiet exploration.
