8-day itinerary

1. Arrival - Overnight in the Langhe Monferrato area
Arrival in the region, where landscapes of rolling hills, vineyards, and historic towns begin to set the atmosphere for the journey ahead.

2. Monferrato with Asti & Canelli - Overnight in the Langhe Monferrato area
The day begins in Asti, the birthplace of Italian sparkling wine. Distinguished by its medieval towers, this city lies at the heart of the Monferrato wine-growing region, home to the celebrated Moscato and Barbera d’Asti. The journey then continues to Canelli, where the legendary underground cathedrals stretch for kilometres beneath the town—majestic cellars recognized as future UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A guided visit to one of these wineries includes a tasting of three refined varieties of Spumante, each reflecting the character of this exceptional terroir.

3. Langhe with Barolo & Alba - Overnight in the Langhe Monferrato area
The Langhe unfolds as a landscape of extraordinary beauty, its rolling hills crowned by castles and noble residences while its slopes are cloaked in vineyards. This area is recognized worldwide as one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. A visit to a local vineyard offers insight into centuries of winemaking traditions, culminating in a tasting of the iconic Barolo, often called the “King of Wines,” accompanied by a selection of regional delicacies. The exploration also includes time in Alba, renowned both for its truffle markets and its charming medieval streets.

4. Truffle Hunt & Wine Bank - Overnight in the Langhe Monferrato area
An authentic truffle hunt takes place in the company of an experienced trifulau and his trained dogs, who reveal the secrets of finding this rare and fragrant treasure. Lasting around two hours, the experience concludes with a tasting showcasing the truffle in a variety of culinary forms. The journey then leads to Pollenzo, where the Wine Bank presents an extraordinary archive of Italian oenology, a monumental collection dedicated to preserving and celebrating the country’s finest wines.

5. Mondovì and transfer to the Riviera of Flowers - Overnight on the Italian Riviera
The transfer includes a stop in Mondovì, a city of two distinct parts linked by cable car. The upper town is dominated by Piazza Maggiore, an elegant square at the summit of a rocky plateau, framed by historic palaces. Nearby rises the Santuario di Vicoforte, an extraordinary baroque pilgrimage site crowned with one of Europe’s largest oval domes, a masterpiece commissioned under the Savoy dynasty. In the afternoon, the journey continues to Pietra Ligure, where accommodation is arranged.

6. Antibes and Cannes - Overnight on the Italian Riviera
Antibes, one of the most enchanting towns along the French Riviera, combines Mediterranean charm with a rich artistic and maritime heritage. Its historic center, with narrow cobbled streets and lively markets, is framed by ancient ramparts overlooking the sea. The town also houses the renowned Picasso Museum, set within the medieval Château Grimaldi, celebrating the artist’s deep connection to the region. Just an hour away lies Cannes, world-famous for its glamorous film festival, luxury boutiques, and palm-lined Croisette, where the elegance of the Riviera comes to life.

7. Alassio and Albenga - Overnight on the Italian Riviera
The Riviera of Flowers reveals its authenticity in the neighboring towns of Alassio and Albenga. Once a humble fishing village, Alassio blossomed in the 19th century when English visitors transformed it into a refined seaside resort. Its golden beaches, literary cafés, and cosmopolitan elegance flourished after the arrival of the coastal railway in 1872. Albenga, by contrast, preserves the memory of its past as a major Roman port, with a historic center rich in medieval towers and monuments, still situated on its ancient site.
