Infos
- Olive harvest experience
- Best truffle tasting opportunity
- Full immersion in Tuscan traditions
The olive harvest in Tuscany is not just a practical endeavor; it is a cultural celebration that connects the people to the land and honors the centuries-old tradition of olive cultivation. The resulting extra virgin olive oil, with its rich flavour and distinct aroma, becomes a symbol of the region's commitment to sustainable agriculture and its deep respect for the land. This annual event can only take place in November, when the olives have ripened and are ready for harvesting and when the region is also ready to hunt the best truffle. A highlight of the month is surely the Truffle Festival of San Miniato with its truffle market, where visitors can purchase freshly harvested truffles directly from local truffle hunters and farmers. This market serves as a unique opportunity for truffle enthusiasts to take home a piece of the festival and the authentic flavours of the region. The festival offers an immersive and unforgettable experience, showcasing the magic of truffles in the heart of one of Italy's most picturesque regions.
