1 Arrival

2 Monopoli and orecchiette cooking class

Visit to a family-run farmhouse in the countryside for a hands-on cooking experience, followed by lunch with the food prepared during the class: orecchiette pasta and several other regional delicacies with a glass of wine. After lunch, Italian “passeggiata” along the promenade of beautiful Monopoli.

3 Trani, Andria and burrata

Morning tour of Trani, with the Romanesque Cathedral dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim overlooking the sea, and the delightful harbour filled with fishing boats. Stop at a local farmhouse to discover all the secrets of the world-famous burrata: the family will explain the production process, and the tour will be followed by a rich tasting.

4 Alberobello, Ostuni and masseria lunch

Morning tour of Alberobello, a truly unique corner of the world, with a stroll around the little Trulli houses that give the town its fairytale atmosphere. Lunch at a traditional masseria featuring excellent regional products. Afternoon tour of Ostuni, the iconic white city overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

5 Salento and Primitivo – hotel change

Transfer to the southern part of the region, known as Salento. Stop en-route for an immersive experience in the region’s winemaking heritage with a  visit to the Civil Museum of the Wine in Manduria, including a tasting of exceptional vintages.

6 Gallipoli, Otranto and olive oil

Morning guided tour of Otranto, a picturesque coastal town with a pristine beach, beautiful mosaics and the Aragonese Castle. Visit to a local masseria with a 1700s hypogeum oil mill. Explanation of the ancient oil production process, followed by a tasting of the golden liquid on some taralli. Afternoon tour of Gallipoli, with its labyrinthine streets, historic churches, and locals still playing cards in every corner of the old town, which is connected to the mainland by a single bridge.
