3 Castelfranco and Cittadella: The walled towns of Veneto - no coach required
• We leave Bassano del Grappa following the Ezzelini-Cycleway
• First stop at the walled town of Castelfranco Veneto, home town of the famous
Renaissance artist, Giorgione. We will enjoy the magical atmosphere of the char-
ming Old Town with its pleasant cafes and elegant palaces
• We continue on to Cittadella, whose unique medieval town wall is completely
intact and which can be circumnavigated in its entirety on foot
• Once back in Bassano we call in on a Grappa distillery for a tasting of the local
fire water

4 Asolo and Prosecco Wine Route - no coach required
• Cycle the lower reaches of Monte Grappa until we reach the village of Possagno,
birthplace of the great Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova.
• Continue on to Monfuno through the beautiful Prosecco vineyards and stop for a
wine tasting with snack in a local winery
• Stop in Asolo, the “city of a hundred horizons”, for over 200 years a refuge for
poets and musicians from all Europe

5 The Brenta River and Villa Contarini
• Take the cycle path of the Brenta River. The middle Brenta area is a true natural
oasis with enchanting landscapes, and a vast artistic heritage
• We visit the imposing 16th century Villa Contarini in Piazzola sul Brenta, an exam-
ple of a patrician residence which helped create the so-called “civilization of the
Venetian villa”
