8-day itinerary

1. Arrival – Overnight in the Palau area
Arrival in Sardinia and transfer to the hotel in the Palau area. Time to settle in and enjoy the first impressions of the island’s rugged northern coastline.

2. Transfer to Corsica – hotel change – Overnight in the Calvi area
The journey begins with a drive to Santa Teresa di Gallura to board the ferry to Bonifacio, one of Corsica’s most spectacular towns, perched dramatically on steep white limestone cliffs. A guided tour introduces the medieval citadel, narrow streets, and the natural harbor below. The ascent to the town is made by a scenic sightseeing train, revealing sweeping views over the cliffs and sea. Dinner and overnight in the Calvi area.

3. Bastia and local products tasting – Overnight in the Calvi area
The day highlights Bastia, a city that combines the charm of a fishing port with the elegance of its old town. Landmarks include the Citadel, built by the Genoese, and the atmospheric Terra Vecchia district with its lively squares and colorful houses. Along the way, there is a stop to sample locally grown Corsican products, which may include cured meats, cheeses, chestnut-based delicacies, and regional wines.

4. The Calanches and Ajaccio – hotel change – Overnight in the Ajaccio area
Travel along the island’s rugged west coast to the Calanches of Piana, one of Corsica’s most striking natural wonders. Weather-carved pink granite formations, some rising up to 300 meters, create surreal shapes above the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The journey continues to Ajaccio, birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, where a guided tour introduces the city’s main sights, from historic squares to the lively waterfront.

5. Transfer back to Sardinia – hotel change – Overnight in the Palau area
Return by ferry from Bonifacio to Santa Teresa di Gallura. Upon arrival in Sardinia, time is at leisure at the hotel to relax and enjoy the coastal surroundings.

6. The Emerald Coast – Overnight in the Palau area
Excursion along the Costa Smeralda, famous for its dazzling turquoise waters, sandy coves framed by granite cliffs, and reputation as a glamorous retreat. Stops include Porto Cervo, the stylish resort town designed by Prince Karim Aga Khan in the 1960s, as well as Cala di Volpe and Porto Rotondo, all known for their exclusive marinas and elegant villas.

7. La Maddalena and Caprera – Overnight in the Palau area
A boat trip from Palau leads into the La Maddalena Archipelago, a group of islands renowned for their emerald waters and pristine beaches. A scenic drive along La Maddalena’s coastal road provides breathtaking views, followed by a crossing of the narrow Ponte Moneta bridge to the island of Caprera, associated with Giuseppe Garibaldi, who spent the last years of his life there. Return by ferry to Palau.
