As one of the best-connected countries by rail, getting around Italy by train is not only easy but also an authentic way to travel. Rail travel in Italy offers visitors a relaxed way to become acquainted with the culture and beauty of the country. We offer two possbile options for travellers seeking to incorporate rail travel within their tour: Day Excursions by Rail or Bespoke Travel Arrangements.
Option 1
Many of our standard coach tours can incorporate day excursions by rail. These trips offer an interesting and nostalgic insight into Italy’s culture, people and traditions, often using vintage rolling stock and engines to transport the visitor back to a time when travel was undertaken at a more leisurely pace, as you discover Italy’s most stunning landscapes.
Option 2
Bespoke rail arrangements which connect iconic destinations by Italy’s quick and very efficient rail network. Here, train travel is the primary mode of transport with just occasional use of coaches to transport you to your excursions. This format is ideal for smaller groups travelling to Italy by rail or air, and we accommodate parties close to the rail stations in each case.
