Day 2: Rome
Tour of Ancient Rome
Today's guided tour will take us back to the period of the glorious Roman Empire. We will travel back to the time of the gladiators and wander through the ruins of Rome beginning with an inside visit to the Colisseum and the Constantine Arch. We will be able to admire the remains of the great Roman era up close: the Roman Forum, Trajan's Column and the Capitoline Hill. During our afternoon walking tour we will explore the most famous squares of Rome starting at the Spanish Steps and then on to the Trevi Fountain. Saying goes, that whoever throws a coin backwards over their left shoulder into the fountain, will soon return to Rome - do not forget to do it! We continue along the famous streets around the Italian parliament buildings to the Pantheon, the famous ancient temple that was converted into a church by Emperor Hadrian. Our tour will end at Piazza Navona, an ancient stadium of Rome, now with an impressive fountain.
