ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival
Day 2 – Catania with fish market
Walking tour through the fish market in Catania with local licensed guide and welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Taormina.
Day 3: Syracuse and Nero d'Avola
Visit Syracuse and wander through the narrow, winding streets of the Ortigia peninsula, the historical centre of Syracuse with Nero d’Avola wine tasting accompanied with local delicacies.
Day 4: Etna, Taormina & pistachios
Scale Mt. Etna, an active volcano, with licensed guide. Walking tour in Taormina and its breathtaking setting among rocks, gardens and sea: its most famous structure, the Greco-Roman Theatre, affords incredible views out to the sea and Mt. Etna. Afterwards, typical Bronte’s pistachio tasting.
Day 5: The Madonie European Geopark and regional flavors tasting
Trip along the Southern Appennini Mountain Chain to explore the Madonie Geopark and visit to a local farmhouse with typical product tasting.
Day 6: Palermo and Vucciria Market
Explore Sicily’s capital Palermo with a walk through one of its lively street markets and the stunning architectural treasures in the Duomo in Monreale with licensed guide and typical street food dinner
Day 7: Trapani and Erice with typical pastry
Guided walk through the beautiful old town of Trapani and its Salt flats. Visit the walled village of Erice, a medieval town perched on a rock. Enjoy a traditional almond pastry and a glass of Marsala wine from the old bakery.
