ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival on the Sorrentine peninsular

Day 2: The sunny Island of Capri
Today's excursion introduces us to the Island of Capri, a special jewel in the Gulf of Naples. We will walk over to the most beautiful spot of the island, nestled between grottoes and natural rock arches overlooking the Faraglioni rocks. The raw beauty of nature, with its bright colours, will remain in the memory for a lifetime.

Day 3: History, myths and nature at Punta Campanella
From Termini we walk down to Punta Campanella at the tip of the peninsula. This limestone promontory forms the natural border between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Sorrento. The path through the nature reserve brings us first through a forest, then on to meadows before we arrive at the Punta Campanella lighthouse. Enjoy the breath-taking views surrounded by the sea on three sides looking out on to the island of Capri. Our route back to Termini heads uphill.

Day 4: The Path of the Gods
We start our hike from Bomerano heading to Nocelle on the beautiful route known as the Path of the Gods. We will stop for our picnic lunch featuring locally produced items on a glorious panoramic terrace, overlooking the sea. Those who still have strength can then opt to descend down to Positano. We will certainly have earned our ice creams or coffee before tackling the day’s final challenge - the 100 steps back up to our coach!

Day 5: Day at leisure

Day 6: Hiking on Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii
We will take the coach to the entrance of the National Park of Mount Vesuvius at an altitude of 1,000m/3,280ft. From here, we start our walk up to the rim of the crater, allowing us to look down in to the volcano. Our guide will then take us to the "Fumarole Zone", where the temperature is at a constant 75°C, before continuing along the edge of the crater until returning to our start point.
The day ends with a visit of the Pompei excavation for an incredible insight into day to day life of the ancient Romans.
This hike is not recommended for asthma sufferers or those prone to dizziness.

Day 7: Pizza making and hike to Sorrento
Leaving directly from the hotel, we start a leisurely hike to a vantage point offering superb views and a wonderful photo opportunity. We then take a special gastronomic trip to discover the world of pizza. Antonio will tell us all about the production of this traditional favourite. In the afternoon we will make our way on to the small paradise of Sorrento, with its beautiful old town and numerous shops before returning to the hotel by coach.
