Day 1: Arrival day in Padua
Day 2 – Tour Venice & St. Mark’s Basilica
Take a boat ride to St.Mark’s Square to visit the Byzantine Basilica and its golden mosaics with a private guide. A walking tour through the unique Venetian urbanscape follows.
Day 3: Tour Padua / mass in Assisi
Tour Padua with a licensed guide and see the Saint Anthony Basilica where relics of the saint are lain. Afterwards attend mass in Assisi, the city where the Franciscan movement started.
Day 4: Tour Assisi & the holy sites of St. Francis
Visit the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli and its Porziuncola – the church within a church – that St. Francis dedicated his life to. Proceed through the Umbrian wood to the Carceri hermitage where the saint used to pray.
Day 5: Tour & mass in Loreto / Transfer to Lanciano
Take a guided tour of Loreto and its Basilica della Santa Casa, which enshrines the house where Mary was born and lived in Nazareth. Enjoy a mass in this sacred place before leaving the Marche’ region for Abruzzo.
Day 6: Mass in Manoppello / Tour Padre Pio’s town
Have mass at the Volto Santo Basilica in Manoppello, a church famous for its Sudarium. Then do a guided walking tour of San Giovanni Rotondo, the town that was home to Padre Pio.
Day 7: Mass at the Montecassino Abbey / Transfer to Rome
Celebrate mass at the Montecassino abbey and enjoy the guided tour of its museum, which displays the many phases of monastery history and art.
Day 8: Rome & the Vatican
Tour the Vatican - its museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
Day 9: Basilicas of Rome / Mass in the catacombs
Visit some of the most beautiful Basilicas in Rome and celebrate mass in one of the catacombs located on the ancient Appian Way.
Day 10: Departure
We may organize the celebration of a Mass whenever you wish to include it in your program.
